Review of the Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta day tour from Ho Chi Minh City, with boat rides, lunch, village stops, costs, and practical tips.

“The cu chi tunnels are well worth visiting, even if you don’t crawl through the tunnels. The ingenuity of the Vietnamese is impressive. Lockie our tour guide is entertaining….. He sang 6 or 7 songs during our 6 hours in a van. Make of that what you will! We found it fun. He also has an interesting personal story. However, the Mekong Delta trip is a waste of time and money. The boat ride in a sampan is maybe 10 minutes with nothing to see and all you hear is “tip, tip”. You are shipped between various stopping points that are just opportunities to be fleeced with very little to…”

Review of a $23 Mekong Delta day trip from Ho Chi Minh City with boats, tuk-tuk rides, bánh khọt, pagoda, fruit, honey, and music.

“This tour was a perfect mix of culture, nature, and local traditions. Cruising the Mekong’s lush waterways and exploring villages by tuk-tuk made for an immersive adventure. We loved visiting coconut candy, honey, and handmade goods artisans, gaining insight into local craftsmanship. The fantastic lunch was a highlight—delicious, authentic, and great value for the tour. Listening to Southern Vietnamese folk music was the perfect way to connect with the spirit of the region. Jonny was an outstanding guide! His knowledge and enthusiasm made every moment engaging. I highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking an authentic Mekong Delta journey!Read more”

Review of the $18 Mekong Delta day tour from Ho Chi Minh City, with boat rides, Ben Tre, coconut candy, lunch, fruit gardens, and folk music.

“The best I can say is that this is a full day trip. However, it is simply being ferried from one tourist trap to another with no information given about what you're seeing. The boat ride is absolute chaos and it's frankly a miracle no one has been hurt. The guide we had was dreadful, he didn't check that people were able to see him to follow him before storming off and spent most time on his phone or chatting to other guides or tour operators. Save yourself a lot of money and avoid this awful excursion.”
